Be the Change Yourself First to Change the World!!!

Truly said by someone :
'Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself'

You all must be aware of variety of people who commute through Mumbai local trains which are almost fully packed. I recently came to know that  the people travelling there used to offer seat to the other person after travelling half of their distance. Truly applauded... :)

Yesterday, while travelling in Delhi metro, I tried to follow the same. I boarded the metro from Huda City Centre and offered my seat to someone after I reached almost half the way. The girl to whom I gave my seat was very happy seeing the modesty. I got the seat again after some time but offer it to again to someone after few stations. When I deboarded the metro at Kashmiri Gate, the girl to whom I offered my seat initially came to me and asked if I am having any back problem. I was confused and said 'No'. She later asked why am I giving my seat to someone unknown again and again.  I smiled and said that everyone is tired from office and my helping hand can help atleast few of them to ease off. She seems to be amazed with my wordings. I, thereafter ,boarded my metro to Rohini. There, I could see in my metro that the same girl offered her seat to another one after few stations.

People are often reluctant to help other. I’ve sub-consciously carried a mission to change the world and leave it a better place than when I found it.This desire to change the world all sounds very heroic. But is it possible? I think it is possible to make a difference in the world, perhaps to a small handful of the world’s population.

I am startled seeing how my small step can change someone's thought to help the unknowns. :)

Recall Mother Teresa's quote : “If everyone only cleaned their own doorstep, the whole world would be clean.
To me, it says that we can only change ourselves, and our first priority should be changing our ways and beliefs, cleaning our own doorsteps.
It’s not the world that needs to change, it’s ourselves.

A sneak peak to 2 years back ~ First day in Office

After completing almost 2 years, when I look back, it seems that almost everything has changed. It was the time when I woke up with an excitement, dressed at my best as it was my first day in the office. We were informed to report at 8:30 a.m. in office (I don't remember the source) and to avoid any complaints, we all dressed completely in formals reached office on time rather before the mentioned time. At 8 a.m.,office being as vacant as the graveyard, we all were extremely happy waiting at reception for someone to call us inside. Someone from HR received us @10. Later on we met our respective teams.

We all pre-decided to meet in cafeteria after sometime. The vending machine overthere attracted us at most at that time. We queued up there wondering how to make coffee from it. How funny it might be looking to others :P . We all tried different ways of making tea/coffee etc. and after lot of confusions came to know the difference between Cappachino, Latte and Expresso. The cafetaria gave us the feeling of college canteen in the office actually :) .

The workplace was so silent that I felt like I am the most talkative girl on the floor. Everyone was engrossed in their screens, I don't know whether they were over burdened with work or were they actually working. I looked left and right to find someone to talk with but end up with noone. :(

The cab overhere gave me good friends. 2 hours of long journey also seems to be very small with them. That was the time when I reached home at around 7 pm with minimal traffic.

Yes, that was the time when I live in the office and enjoy with my siblings in the evening... :)
